Hey there! I just had the chance to download and play with 165 a bit, and it's working fantastically. The performance improvements are remarkable: combat especially feels much more fast-paced.

I've had some difficulties with 167 -- two perhaps related difficulties. For me, movement is very slow on maps (the computer hangs when moving from one square to another). In addition, all the maps have black squares scattered over them. I tried fiddling with the override setting a bit to see if this changed anything, but it didn't. I haven't seen either of these issues with 165, which runs like a dream.

I can post screenshots when I get home if you need me to!

Hi Zach, this release should fix the black square problem (new optimization made the engine only render visible tiles of layers 0 and 1 which is a bad idea if fog of war is somewhat transparent -> this particular optimization will only kick in with rather opaque/solid fog of war now).

I could not replicate the slow down on movement though. It would be great if you could send me a version of your current module with a saved situation where you experience this slow down, please.

- turned off a render optimizaion in case an author uses somewhat transparent fog of war (opacity equal or less than 0.975)

Ah, hold on, Zach, please - I think I found the culprit for the slow downs (should be related to the music/sound toggle and likley weather sounds). Investigating...
